Barry Hoyne has over thirty years of professional experience in a wide variety of community-oriented roles. As a registered architect and former landscape architect, Barry served as the principal-in-charge, lead designer, and project manager for numerous award winning projects throughout the Pacific Northwest plus a few throughout the nation & world. Until recently, Barry was a Partner and Principal Architect of Tonkin/Hoyne Architecture & Urban Design in Seattle, WA for twenty-four years. In 2013, Barry ventured off to start the next chapter of his life - exactly what that means seems to evolve on a daily basis, however giving back to the community remains a central focus.
Over the years, Barry's professional practice has focused public and community development projects ranging from affordable housing to zoological parks.
Much of Barry Hoyne's current architectural work continues to be in affordable housing and community developments for non-profits, community organizations, municipalities, and institutions. As an independent architect, Barry Hoyne, Architect LLC is a small, creative architectural consulting firm. For major projects, Barry typically collaborates with larger firms, in which Barry assumes a key design role since he generally brings in or played a key role in securing the design project. Large current collaborative projects include the 75-unit mixed-use senior housing project with a medical PACE facility in Redmond, WA and two large renovation project portfolios consisting of ten projects throughout the State of Washington.
